Weiner Bus

Jan 26, 2007 10:30

I missed every bus I tried to catch this morning, watching them sail away, moments before I could catch them. Even thermals didn't keep out the bitter cold as I sat there in disgust, swearing under my breath.

As we stood there waiting for the bus, a little dachshund mix, wearing several coats and a hoodie, wandered over. At first we thought he belonged to the girl he crossed the street with, but she kept walking. Then we thought he lived next door, until the woman said she had no idea who's he was. Fortunately, the dog had tags, and so the other guy at the stop called the Humane Society on his cell. At least I think that's the number he dialed, since he was describing the dog as I left. If I hadn't been rushing to an appointment, I would have stuck around to see what happened.

I hope his owners get him back soon.
