Everybody else is posting pictures of their dinners. I can do that too. This is Unagi to Edamame or, as I affectionately refer to it, Eel and Beans.
Be amazed. Be very amazed. All you people and your tofu and your jerk taiwan or whatever it is can go and suck it. Because this was awesome. I am a beast. And I am so Japanese right now.
Also, I left out the big glass of wine. Yellowtail Cab Sav, baby. Choice of connoisseurs on a budget in Japan everywhere. But mostly in Japan. And by connoiseurs I mean people who spent the last four years shrugging and drinking the whole box when people turned down the Franzia.
And finally, Mental Note: Food gets cold when you take pictures of it.
Oh, and one more teensy thing.
I'll talk to you guys individually eventually.
I've been really busy (whoa!! I haven't been busy in nine months! I could've had a baby in the time since I was last busy!), and stressed out by these changes and decisions and general suckiness of Mike and my lives right now, and plus classes start tomorrow.
But it's true. We're going to be in Japan next year.
Mike is agreeing to be an alternate for the JET Programme, much to his bruised, rejected ego's chagrin, and if that still doesn't work out, a) he will probably never forgive that trick-ily nameless faceless corporation what done him wrong, and b) he will come to Japan either to work under the table (leaving every 90 days when his travel visa expires, or (and this is the hope) he will find a job that will sponsor him in a visa.
Although it's the closest he and I have come to an actual fight, and although it's been an excruciatingly hard decision, the ridiculousness that is the JET income actually is so outrageous that this is both doable and lucrative.
I might might have access to my LiveJournal tomorrow, at my second school, so go ahead and post comments here, but you might want to try the Gmail address too.
