Cottage Fun

I came back home on Sunday and noticed that taking two days off was completely and utterly the wrong thing to do this time of year. But it was great fun. I went swimming (or, to be exact, took a quick dip in the lake), watched the Idols finale, read Ivanhoe (a novel about the time of the Crusades that was my favourite book when I was around nine) and spent some time with my second cousin who's always been one of my best friends and just came home from Long Island. Good times, except it was really too cold. On Saturday it actually snowed.

And now it's just school, school, school again. I wonder how things that need to be done can multiply without me even having to go to school to get more assignments? But I really can't say things aren't fun. For example, we have to present a candidate in the French presidential elections on French Society class. My group's candidate represents a party called Chasse, Pêche, Nature, Tradition, or "Hunting, Fishing, Nature, Tradition". I think that's about the most hilarious thing about politics I've ever heard. This guy, who BTW is 39 years old (I figured that he would be around his eighties, when I heard the name of the party), is seriously running for president to support the rights of bloody hunters. In 2007. The world is such a great place.
