singing whatever and ever amen

At work is where I'm most bored and therefore most inspired. Therefore I often email myself randomness:

"Small wonder that spell means both a story told, and a formula of power over living men."

-JRR Tolkien

Are you kidding? This is amazing:

"To err is human, to forgive, divine."
-Pope

No one is perfect, so don't expect them to be. Look past the bad. Choose to see the goodness in people.

"Friends are the people who know you but love you anyway"

Okay, thought:

So you can't decide between a shining future as a magazine editor/publisher, the excitement of being a European travel/tour guide, or a glorious future as a starving artist or freelance writer in Soho (well, maybe for a year or so)...

You're an English major. You can't change that, and it's a great start - if you're doing something you love now, then you will probably end up
doing something you love later... in your situation, Editor/Artist/Designer needs a masters in art. Travel guide needs a masters in history... and art history wouldn't hurt at the museums. Either way you gotta do it. So why don't you just minor in ART HISTORY. And write/intern at a newspaper/magazine/agency on the side while you're a starving student trying to pay off your ridiculous loans.

And that way, Mom still thinks you want to be an antiques dealer. And auctioneer is still an option.

There you go. I WILL NOT work at a financial institution EVER AGAIN.
Promise.

I suppose I should actually talk about my life... this journal has really just become a depository for random musings of late...

Went to the Cape yesterday with HC peeps. It was nice to see some Wheeler people again and see how everyone's doing... weather at the beach was temperamental, but I still managed a burn (tan later, nice!). Just laid out, read Harry, caught up with everyone, and looked for shells. Goo times. We were in W. Yarmouth so we absolutely had to hit up Pirate's Cove to mini-golf... I strongly reccomend it, even if you're just going to watch... extremely cool. It definitely had a very Disney-esque sense/illusion of place. Ooh! camera's fixed!

Delish clamcakes at Salty's. Beverage-driven comraderie at the Tidewater Motor Lodge, which is just as sketchy as it sounds. Breakfast at a cutesy kitch mock-50's diner this morning and then it was a ride back here with Slidey-Snydes. Itsa nice-a.

Nice weekend, but back to boring, useless work tomorrow :-/
