very very very true for me as well.
This is sort of related...well, not much, but your last paragraph reminded me of a thought I've been having recently. Throughout my life...and for the rest of it....there have/will only been a few people whose lives I have been able to learn about and understand and be a part of. Everyone else....I've just glimpsed their life, I guess, but I've decided that that is almost as valuable to be able to catch bits and pieces of people's lives as it is to understand them more fully....it certainly is interesting, anyway. That's one of the reasons I love Village Harmony; because I'm able to meet sooo many different people, both a lot of the people in my group and through my travels (the family's houses i stay at, etc.), and even though I don't know the people very well, I take parts of their lives with me, and I learn from all of them. About what you said about documenting them...I'm like a little gerbil...chewing up little bits and pieces of people's lives and toss them into my own at random, and reflecting on it all at some point...in my head, or actually physically domumenting it.
And of course, as you said, I'm thankful to know all of the people that I do, because even if I'm not close to them, I learn a least a little bit from everyone....
