there had been solemn thoughts
where i dreaded the seventh because grandpa left
on the ninth

but there are new things

no, not new pictures but

like

right now i'm wondering if i
would ever thought of hamsters going to the vet
but of course being a parent with the girls
(and little boys)
visiting the vet is like going to the pediatrics

mang as usual has her ear problem with
has alleviated for a bit

millie was getting checked for
her loose knee
and it turns out she has the same
problem as her mummy (i.e. yours truly)

a week later
creamer (we really didn't have a name
but had to stick with the one i made up)
had a skin infection and
i've learnt how to feed
young
dwarf
hamsters medicine

and today
horror of horrors
i arrived home to find hamtaro's leg
horribly twisted
around the cage grills

i thought he was dead

apparently he isn't, and
more heart-wrenching (and rather disgustingly) i had to free him
with minimal movement
before i could think of anything between the tears of fear/confusion/pain/etc.

he went to the vet to and had an injection
now he's climbing around again
that rascal

a fighter he is
