Things I've been doing lately
The USC regional mock trial tournament is over and 1st Place thru 8th Place were won by a combination of UCLA and USC entries. I believe a team from Claremont-McKenna took 9th Place. I did that alot when I was growing up in the house I lived in. The way parents treat you as kids and we are starting to branch off as men or woman to the PS2 era. Even though its hard as a person to not lie and to be a modest person. I completly understand what you going through because I had to do the same for fact so she wouldn't worry.
You live in San Diego and you want to give that obligation to see your parents I don't know why they are so hard to understand sometimes too. Most of the time I don't wish about home anymore. I think its a part of growing up and letting go. Letting go of parents and saying fuck it and let them feel a period of time to themself. Only then can they truly appreciate and understand what they were missing before.
I'm with you Enming and in some sense in a little more to the extreme because of the passion I had with the way I live. I would rather enlisted in the Marines than stay at home. I found myself coming home every weekend to accomplish nothing but bitter arguements and hate. It might sound cruel but being away from home is the only way they will understand that you grew up. Even if that means no phone calls or visits.
Life got to move forward and not go backward to be controlled again by parents. I might not be born in America but I learn that once you 18 years old your allowed to do anything you want. I rather be poor in the streets than be dependent on them if thats the case. I look as you owe them your respect but for your life to move forward they owe you the right to be free. To get out if you want or even staying out of the business of credit cards. They should understand the meanind its none of your business.
If you give them that control, then your in their pocket and when your in their pocket your in their debt and you don't want that.
Overal Enming you know they just love you. Their just looking for the best for you but sometimes you just got to let them know "Hey, Hey, I got this.". Even if thats means screaming at them or trying to leave to Okinawa a week earlier, or sleeping at a friend's houses rather than home. If thats the case then do it. If theres no other way, theres no more suger coating at it and by then you have to use some authority.
