Ten Minute Update

May 09, 2007 09:13

I'm giving myself ten minutes to write here. The main reason I don't post is that I worry it will massively interrupt my work day (because I always feel like writing in here when I'm supposed to be working), so here goes. This week is my official 'reclaim your health' week; I'm visiting three doctors in three days. Yesterday I went to a ( Read more... )

I'll definitely check it out. My current configuration is similar, but more compact (maybe), a two-tiered system called the Trifecta. Introverted Tier = Simultaneous goal achievement in Spiritual, Physical, and Mental. Right now that is Zen Koan reading and morning breathe walking accompanied by minimalist music for the spiritual; Push-up/Crunches and (soon) Running; and becoming proficient in basic web-design (CSS and XHTML, with a dash of JavaScript). Then there is the Extroverted Tier: immediate family, business contacts, and friends. Immediate family goals involve engaging T in deeper conversations and Zen Koans, and at least one surprise a week for Michelle; business contacts equals following through on delivering free photos, and finishing website and portfolio so that I can go have meetings with art directors and small businesses, ultimately making 5 new contacts a week; friends involves more posting on lj and making an effort to do stuff with the two friends I've got here (Bjork on the 19th).
There should be another tier that has finances in it somewhere, but right now it is just floating around like a crazy comet in an otherwise well-organized solar system.

The Trifecta seems similar to the Star. I also call it the Golden Ticket. I like your introverted and extroverted tiers. Which Zen Koan book are you reading? I would like to join in on the evening reading, if remotely. Three pages of nonsense in the morning is a good ritual for me right now too... I've been doing it for over a year now (not perfectly) but it is a good sleep->wakefulness brain dump purging session.

And I fully endorse you writing more on LJ. I need people like you on here.

And yeah, you should add a finances tier. It's not the most important, but it's about the same as the others... or, when it's healthy, it helps the health of others, and vice versa. At least, that's what I currently think.

Zen Flesh, Zen Bones is the name of the book. It's great. It's all the nonsense you could want.
