i had mentioned about a cancer patient's blog a while back, turns out that she went to yunnan this Feb.
"not telling good friends and classmates, putting aside family members' worries and oppositions, i held close to my chest 20 pills of morphine painkiller and stubburnly went on a jouney to yunnan all by myself. ... bearing the pain, I just want to have my eyes wide open and take another good look at this lovely world."

although she didn't go to Shangri'la, she went to a place even more remote and closed off. the fact that she picked Yunnan as her destination makes me proud to be from that place.
but i am sooo much more proud of her.
i can't imagine the trouble and pain she had to go through to get all the way from taiwan to yunnan, nor can I come close in picturing the great amount of joy she must've had on the trip. any attempt of mine is probably an underestimation.
