step by step
So a friend from seminary posted an article about the "Other" folder on Facebook messages. (In short, click messages to the left of your home screen and then click other.) Most of them were just mass emails from pages and celebrities that I follow on facebook. One was from some creeper dude.
But one. One was from my dad's step daughter. I have a hard time calling her my step sister. Considering I've never met her. I've barely seen my dad in the last 14 years, and not at all in the last 9. Honestly, I'm not sure he calls her his step daughter.
Apparently my dad really wants to send me a Christmas card this year so she looked me up on facebook to get my address. Well, this is what she sent me:
Hi. i know you don't know me but my dad is your dads partner and your dad wants to send you a Christmas card. I know it would mean a lot to him if you gave him or me your address so i can give it to him so he can send you a card. also he loves you and thinks about you often. He tells stories about you and Eric all the time.
Not sure what to think or do about this. Well, I'm going to talk to Eric about it first. But I'm really not sure if I want to go into this with her/him/them.
Really, it comes down to the fact that I kind of want to make contact again. Just a little bit. But I'm really not sure if I can handle being let down by him. Again. That, there, that scares the shit out of me.
