Autumn Contest 2009 Results
Hello Enlings,
Thank you to everyone who participated in EnY's Autumn Contest 2009! We received many great entries and appreciate everyone's hard work in this challenging contest. ^^ The theme was to make a Gackt figurine/doll showing any of Gackt’s looks from the past 10 years.
We have tallied the scores given by the judges and are happy to announce the winners (the top three were very close!):
1st Place by Ansnnn
Prize: Gackt 2010 Wall Calendar
PAS Points: 30 (participation) + 5 (early entry) = 35
Style/look it's modeled after: I did Gackts shirt of MusiQ special Out of music vol.6, and the black trousers that he wears often right now for instance in the Dears Event while Asia Song Festival in Korea. His hairstyle is recent black hair, not too voluminous. I did two bracelets:

Name of the doll: GACKT CAMUI 2009
Material of the body: air-hardening clay, no special brand
A simple explanation of the doll (Up to 100 words): I really like Gackts recent look (2009), his hair is really nice in black and styled with bangs to one side. I also like the skinthight shirt he wore in MusiQ special out of music magazine and the black trousers. So I put them together. I even used nail polish for the more shinier parts as lips, eyes and his jewelry haha. It was the first time for me to sculpt something and it was harder than I expected!! It took me around one month or so and in the end I am okay with the figure....(please let me win the calendar xDDD)
Judges' comments: "Very nicely sculpted, and I like the jewelry details." "I just love this one. This may not be a perfect sculpt of Gackt in terms of identicalness but in terms of capturing his character and qualities it's spot on. The pose, the look, it's brilliant!" "it might be rough around the edges in terms of technique (tho to me that just adds to the charms and overall character of the sculpt) But it expresses everything that is 'Gackt' for me! Superb!" "The attention to detail is amazing, especially the jewellery, the hands, even the slick hair-do. Great job for not making it stand stiff and proper, but allowing it to stand "naturally"."

Style/look it's modeled after: Requiem et Reminiscence II/Zero
Name of the doll: Zero
Material of the body: Microsuede, Acrylic fur, Cotton, PVC
A simple explanation of the doll (Up to 100 words) -Plushie Zero made from scratch including pattern drafting. Red LED eyes for that authentic murderous cyborg look. Hair rather painstakingly hand-dyed due to local fabric store having crappy selection of craft fur see also NEVER DOING THAT AGAIN.
Judges' comments: "I love this one! The glowing red eye totally kill me! XD Genius! Although the doll doesn't resemble Gackt that much to me, it definitly has his essence and character." "The sewing is pretty good tho I see a few rough edges and loose threads. But it's nothing really that lets down the overall funness of this entry!" "THE HAIR! I just can't look past the hair! XD Very adorable though. The red eyes were particularly impressive! Genius." "I like the material used for the costume, and the glowing eyes are a nice touch."

Style/look it's modeled after: I am trying to create all forms/avatars of GACKT. Included in this round are Zero from RR2 tour, A current casual GACKT, Sho style doll wearing PV 'Kimi ga oikakute yume' outfit, Gackt in 'Mizerable' Outfit, and Gackt in 2002 tour outfit.
Name of the doll: I call them all as Gackt except for Zero.
Material of the body: The dolls are made of hard polyurethane resin. They are commissioned from a company called 'Doll in Mind'. Each doll mold is then hand painted and all outfits are handmade (except for the shoes).
A simple explanation of the doll (Up to 100 words) - These dolls give so many form of expression! I want to create Genesis and Camui Gakupo next.
Judges' comments: "The quality of the clothes leave me speechless. However, I had to knock off some points off technicalities because the dolls weren't made from scratch." "(I took off points for the technique because the doll molds were commissioned) Beautiful clothing details! Great job painting the faces too, especially Zero." "These are amazing dolls looking. The clothes are very well made and accurate to the originals."

Style/look it's modeled after: Chibi Gackt
Name of the doll: Chibi Santa
Material of the body: Clay
A simple explanation of the doll (Up to 100 words) : I'm currently fetish on Chibi Gackt, so I made this one. As the Xmas almost comes, I made the chibi in Santa Claus costume.
Judges' comments: "Very cute! Could use a some details to make it more Gacktish." "Well, it's cute and it's a quite nicly made figure, but it just doesn't look like Gackt or really make me think 'Gackt' in any way. It might be inspired by the chibi style but it looks more like a general manga chibi style not the Gackt chibi style." "LOVE the concept and I adore the idea of giving him fangs. But I don't think Gackt has actually sported a Santa look before so I'm afraid I'm going to have to take some points off."

Style/look it's modeled after: A plushy, with Gackts red-brown hair in some self-crotched clothes, which are not designed after some of his clothes. But he's wearing a skirt and one legwarmer haha
Name of the doll: lil' Gackt
Material of the body: cloth, wool and furry cloth
A simple explanation of the doll (Up to 100 words): It is one little plushy I made once and he is kind of cute!! But still I couldn't get myself up to make him more gacktish clothes, so I decided to give him one sexy skirt and one legwarmer haha.
Judges' comments: "Well, the syle of this doll amuses me, and it's failry well made. It doesn't really look that much like Gackt tho the face is nicly painted. It doesn't really invoke any of Gackt's styles or character tho and the lack of/weird clothing makes it feel unfinished." "Not sure which Gackt "look" is being portrayed here. Nice job with the crocheting, but again, not very Gacktish!"
