It had taken him a long time, but Sasuke had finally ventured out of the hotel as carefully as possible, his attention unable to focus on one thing. If he stayed in there too long, would the shadows have gotten him? He scowled and shook his head, continuing towards the playground quickly.

When he got closer, he saw a few other kids there and it made him stop, biting his lip between his teeth. His hand lifted, touching his hair before he moved a bit closer, deciding to climb up onto the slide and sit there to watch the girl on the swing and the people that were near her.

They all seemed really friendly, but he never was too trusting anymore.

Aerith saw the dark-haired boy approaching slowly and watched as he made his way over to the slide. It made sense; the swings were full. She didn't recognize him, but decided to change that.

"Tell me what the slide's like!" she hollered over. "It looks like fun!"

He looked up from his spot atop the slide when he heard a voice, dark eyes staring at the girl before he bit his lip again.

Finally, after what seemed like forever, he pushed himself down the slide, letting out a slight yelp at how quickly he went down.

Once he reached the end, Sasuke held the edges of he slide and smiled just barely. ``It is!``

"Oh, yay!" Aerith slowed her swinging and then jumped off her swing, and ran over to the boy. "Can I try it? Would you mind?"

Sasuke watched the girl curiously, scooting back a bit on the slide and moving to stand up.

He jumped down beside her, his smile widening some. ``Go ahead!``

"Thank you!" She clambered to the top of the slide and sat carefully, arranging her skirt so that nothing inappropriate showed, then with a shriek of glee, slid down. "Oh! That is so much fun! The ones in Midgar were always too shaky and scary."

``Mhm . . `` He moved away from the slide some, tilting his head all the way back to watch the brunette on the ride down with a grin.

``Yeah, but . . what's Midgar?``

"Midgar's my hometown," she informed him with a nod. "'The Jewel of the Continent!' That's what my mom called it. Where are you from?"

``Oh, okay!`` Sasuke moved to stand near the slide again, leaning against it slightly. ``I'm from Konoha.``

"Ko-no-ha," she said slowly, rolling the word around on her tongue. "It sounds Wutain. Are you from Wutai?"

``That's right!`` he exclaimed, his smile returning after a moment before he made a slight face. ``No . . where's that?``

"It's another place on my Planet," she explained. "What world are you from, since you're not from Gaia? Are you from ... Earth?"

``Oh,`` he whispered, ducking his head and fidgeting slightly, nodding his head towards the question.

She looked up at him, wondering why he'd gotten so quiet and twitchy all of a sudden. "Are you okay?" she asked, biting her lip. "I didn't mean to upset you!"

He pulled his arms down quickly and shook his head, letting another grin cross his face. ``I'm okay! Just thinkin' . . ``

"'Bout what?" she asked, cocking her head curiously. "Gil - um, pretty rock for your thoughts?"
