There was Near in a perfectly comfortable hiding spot, squirming a little as he watched the bubbles curiously. He really wasn't trying to focus on Neku, after much time spent in his room trying to bring his senses back, the first thing he does is this. The sad thing was, Near knew all about Neku trying to protect him and see if he was okay. It was something he could use to his advantage.

He looks at Neku from the distance of his hiding spot, towel wrapped around his waist he gets up very casually as the boy looks something close to serene. Near blinks, resisting the urge to twirl his hair and looks over at the boy, just for a little while so he could register his prescene. He takes one of the bubbles, and pokes it.

"Do you like them...?"

Neku did not even notice Near, nor was he aware of his presence. He jumped at the sound of his voice, causing the water to splash rather loudly and the bubbles to shake, as if they were going to part and expose what lay beneath them. He squirmed and sank into the water, glaring up at Near, though he was not at all unhappy to see him.

"What are you doing in here?!" he whined, instead of his usual snap. "Can't you see I'm taking a bath?!"

"...of course I can see that." Near says clearly and sure, then shrugs a bit, still clinging to his towel. "I am the one that set the bath up for you of course, it's not too much trouble is it?" He bends down to the tub, on Neku's eye level.

"Now, I would enjoy a bubble bath myself." He smiles only just a bit, letting go of the towel a bit. "Would you please turn away so I can join you?" He reaches down to twirl Neku's hair, waiting for him to respond.

Neku always was the type of boy who pointed out the obvious. His brows furrowed over his baby blues as Near informed him kindly that he was the one who set up the bath and then everything seemed to fall into place. Of course Near had set up this bath, otherwise Near would have never even bothered to taken it. But, then.. why hadn't he thought of that before he had gotten in? It could have been the Host playing some sick game or something.

"What?" his eyes widened. "You can't join me!!" not that the bath tub wasn't big enough and he didn't really want Near to join him. He blushed at the idea and grumbled quietly, shifting carefully so none of the bubbles would move and turning away from the older boy none the less.

Near makes his way to the bathtub, sitting opposite of Neku quite comfortably. "You're free to turn back." He says, voice dazed because he was quite busy poking bubbles. Then he looks at Neku, head tilted and all and smiles.

"What happened to not joining you?" He twirls his own hair and sighed, looking hurt for a second. "I wasn't exactly looking for that response...did I startle you? My apologies." He looked down at a rubber duck he brang, nudging it over to Neku.

"Okay?"

Neku shifted back, leaning against the cool tile of the tub, bringing his knee's up slightly as he tried not to glare at Near. He sighed and shook his head, lips pursing slightly.

"How else am I supposed to react?" he grumbled, shifting his gaze onto the duck as it floated toward him. His brows furrowed and he glared at it, as if he had never seen one in his life.

"What is that?" he picked it up, knowing what it was and knowing how Near was going to respond. "How'd you get this?" he changed the subject, looking back at Near, eyes softening.

"You react with what you're truly feeling." He says simply, knowing all too well that Neku well, Neku couldn't exactly refuse him. This was simply fact, it wasn't something that he was going to take advantage of personally.

"...it's a rubber duck, I like toys so I thought I'd bring it along. There isn't much else to say except that." He smiles just a little bit again as he notices the softening in Neku's eyes. "You can throw it out if you want, I won't be particulary happy but it's not something I care too much about."

Neku just placed the duck back onto the surface of the water, watching as it bobbed for a moment before pushing it back toward Near. He had a feeling that Near was aware of how Neku couldn't deny him but he didn't voice such a thing aloud. Not that anyone needed to know that.

"I know what it is," he huffed. "It just surprised me that you managed to get one in a place like this..." why wasn't he getting uncomfortable? He was, after all, naked. And in a bath tub. With another boy. He pulled his knee's closer to himself, cheeks flushing suddenly as he looked away from Near.

"I was very surprised too, don't get me wrong." He kicks the rubber duck back and forth before him, sinking a bit more into the water. "It's nice though, it must have to do with that apprentice..." His voice fades away as he looks at Neku and his blushing.

"This is an odd situation, I know. I just thought you'd be more willing to accept it considering the circumstances..."

Neku just blinked at the mention of the apprentice. Who was that? Oh, right.. that other voice that had delivered the announcements instead of the usual. A pre-pubescent boy hiding behind a microphone and.. well.. he wasn't all that bad. He seemed to be helping everyone out. But, he wasn't exactly getting them out there.

Not that it mattered. A part of Neku wanted to stay, never wanted to leave. He would never admit such a thing, however..

He looked back at Near, brows furrowing slightly out of bewilderment before he asked, "You're naked and in my bathtub. How am I supposed to accept that so easily?" his cheeks were still flushed and he just crossed his arms over his chest, grumbling softly, "Well.. whatever. I doesn't matter any ways..."

"So now you don't care of me being naked in your bathtub?" He glances at him a bit observingly, in a way he was drinking Neku in. However, Near was much too logical to do that. He was not admiring him, he was observing him he would point out to himself.

"That's a very odd choice you can suddenly make Neku. Of course, I don't particulary mind much."

Neku glared down at the bubbles, brows still drawn over his eyes, obviously embarrassed. He couldn't even fight the deep blush that spread up his neck and to his cheeks. He couldn't even tell Near to get out any more, he could even snap back properly. What was wrong with him?

"Well, I hope you wouldn't mind," he rolled his eyes, looking back at Near and clicking his tongue. "You were the one who snuck into my room, after all. What were you planning, any ways?"

Near cocks an eyebrow at this question and his blush, another smile gently finds it's why on Near. He isn't used to smiling this much, he shouldn't really but something might be wrong with him too. He shrugs, twirling his hair and relaxing.

"Neku you can't honestly think I had any other intention then taking a bath with you. It's better for our relationship, no?"

Neku looked up at Near, quirking a brow before going, "Are you serious?" Of course Near was. He glanced around then looked back at the albino, then at the duck, then back at Near.

"Whatever you say," he shrugged. "I didn't really think that taking a couple taking a bath together would do anything but.. eh.." he popped a few bubbles, lapsing into a silence.

"So, what do we do?"

"We're two naked boys in a bathtub, it does wonders to our relationship to put that bluntly." He moves the rubber duck back towards Neku, tilting his head a bit in thought. Near was going to let Neku decide on that one.

"Well, what is the first thought that comes--" He shakes his head softly, "Well never mind that, but what's the reasonable thing to do?"

Neku stared at the duck as it floated back toward him, as if it were going to attack him or something. He made a small face and pushed it back toward Near as he finished Near's sentence, "The first thing that comes to mind?" he glanced back at him, raising a brow.

"Well, a lot of things come to mind. And I don't know what a reasonable thing to do is! This is my first time in a bathtub with another person!" he sunk deeper into the water until it was up to his nose and flushed. He should probably get out or something.

But he didn't.
