This was the worst event ever! I didn't get to see the evil robot do anything! The second everyone started freaking out dying, I went to go investigate as any Ultra Detective would, but by the time I got down a few flights of stairs the poison got to me ( Read more... )

I'm pretty sure that being able to live through something like that is not always the brighter side of the rainbow, so to speak.

So you lived through it!? Did you see the robot?

You could say that. And no, I didn't happen to see the computer. I didn't even know what was going on until later, after I had gotten out of the hotel, and even then the information I received was jumbled and broken.

No way! How'd you survive anyway? Are you an immortal being?

I'm not immortal, no. Where I come from, we have a substance called Mako, and when it's injected into your blood, it gives you... let's call them super human qualities. Such as abnormal strength, endurance, that sort of thing. It also fights toxins, such as the neurotoxins that GLaDOS injected into the air. And because I've been injected with said substance, I was able to survive.

[ooc - You just had to ask didn't you? :)]

Unfair! I wish that my world had drugs that could give you superpowers!

((ooc: But of course. :D))

They're not exactly superpowers. And while having the enhancements does come in handy sometimes, they were made for people in the army. Their basic use is for making the people in the Soldier program elite fighters. When your done fighting, and need to go back and try and live a normal life, it's more of a curse then a blessing really.

Why would you want to go back and live a normal life!? Isn't life as an elite fighter with superpowers more fun? Normal isn't fun at all!

I was never actually....

Things are different for me. I've never really been what I suppose you could call normal. But life in the army was, for me, less then pleasant. The company we worked for had less than honorable intentions.

Besides, I'm tired of fighting.
