An article about the references to flying vehicles and cities in ancient Indian epic poetry such as the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. Some people think that these might refer to ancient technology. A few of them did remind me of anime and Star Trek episodes, which may have been inspired by the older tales. That said, we don't have flying cities now, but we easily imagine them, so I don't think that the extent of the detail is necessarily indicative of anything beyond the power of imagination.
