Here is a
video of the
Vienna Vegetable Orchestra using vegetables as musical instruments, including carrot recorders and celery root bongos and a leek string instrument like a
washtub bass.
I like the part (at about 2:50) where the woman says "This piece is dedicated to...cabbage."
The Oddmusic Gallery has summaries of unusual musical instruments, including the
vegetable ones, but also others like the
Celestial Harp which plays one's astrological horoscope, and the
Lego Harpsichord, which is a
functional harpsichord made entirely of lego parts except for the strings which are made of metal wire. Also, on the site, I saw an advertisement that looked like it belongs on
WetRiffs, proving that
Rule 34 is not only alive and well, but also being used for advertising. Maybe Rule 34 needs a corollary, like "...and it will eventually be used for advertising." Actually, now that I've written that, and looked at the advertising picture in question again, the woman is scantily clad and holding an electric guitar, but not actually dripping wet or in the shower, although I suppose the shiny surface behind her could be part of a shower. So maybe it doesn't quite meet the criteria for WetRiffs. But still, it was close enough to give me a feeling of startled recognition.
