He still hadn't swallowed the idea that Diego was dead, and that there now seemed to be a new threat. He had hardly recovered from the days events or...even breathed yet. Except when he knew Fiona was alive and staying that way.

The moment Bela's arms went around him, everything else deflated out and he wrapped his arms around her and buried his face in her hair. He breathed her in slowly and exhaled.

"For now," he murmured.

She relaxed against him, closing her eyes some more and just wanting to keep him as close as possible. "Good."

He held her tightly for a long time, then pulled back just slightly to kiss the top of her head. He took a deep breath and sighed.

"Strickland's dead. And now...Diego is, too."

She made a bit of a face at the first one. "You couldn't let me shoot Strickland first?" She'd never liked the weasel. She would have happily shot him in a kneecap or something if she thought it would get Michael somewhere.

At the news of Diego though, she wasn't so sure. "But that's not good, is it?"

"Had no other option at the time with Strickland. And Diego...no. It's not good. He said someone was following him. I think that someone is after me."

"I'm here," he replied, holding her tighter. Fact was he had been worried about her, too. Even though she'd been okay and not a piece of that day's puzzle...he still worried. He always worried.
