“Daaaaaaaad! Mommy’s bein’ sick ‘gain!”
Bela groaned slightly as she rested her head on the side of the toilet, trying to get her stomach to stop rolling. She had been trying to be quiet about things, but apparently, you couldn’t hide anything from a two year-old. Sam was in the doorway a few minutes later, a look of concern on his face.
“Thought you said it was just a twenty-four hour bug.”
“I thought it was,” she grumbled as she pushed herself up a bit, running a hand through her hair. “I was feeling better last night, but-apparently whatever this is had other ideas.”
Sam nodded slowly, before sitting down on the edge of the tub next to her, big hand coming against her forehead gently as he brushed her hair out of her face. “You’re not warm-are you sure you’re sick?”
“I just spent the past fifteen minutes vomiting, Sam. I’m pretty sure I’m sick in some capacity.”
“Well-not necessarily.” Sam’s eyebrows went up slightly. “You could be-”
“Pregnant?” she finished for him, a bit surprised at the suggestion. “No, I’m not. I’m pretty sure I would know if I was pregnant.” But now she was thinking about it. Not that her and Sam’s sex life had been all that prolific as of late-having a small child, as well as a brother-in-law who spent most of his time acting like a small child tended to put a kink in that. Still, if there was a chance-
“Okay,” Sam sighed, before shifting to help her up. “C’mon, let’s get you back to bed.”

Sam was sitting in bed reading when the pillow hit him in the side of the face. He seemed a little startled, and he looked at Bela with wide eyes, wondering exactly what it was that he did. Bela just stood at the edge of the bed, one hand on her hip and a rather displeased look on her face.
“You had to say it.”
It only took him a few minutes to figure out what she was talking about, before a grin split across his face. “You are.”
“It’s possible. I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow to see, but-yes.”
He grinned at her before taking her hand and pulling her into bed next to him. Bela went, somewhat reluctantly, curling into him and letting him slide arm around her shoulders.
“This is a good thing,” he whispered, and she sighed slightly before nodding.
“I know,” she sighed. “I just could have lived without it happening for a while.”
Sam nodded a bit, before kissing the top of her head lightly and just letting her curl into him. “Well, there is a bright side,” he said with a bit of a shrug.
“Oh?” she asked. “What’s that?”
“Least I don’t have to save your life this time.”
Bela was quiet for a moment, before smirking slightly as she leaned back into him. “Yeah. Least there’s that.”
