Back from Furnal Equinox!

What a fun con!
Susan Van Camp and I drove up from Detroit to pick up our buddy Heather Bruton, and we drove on up to the hotel.  Very easy to check in, and we got our con badges quickly too!
Once in the Dealer's Den, I was unhappy to see that my corner of the room was dark due to ceiling lights being out.  The con staff saw to it that the hotel fixed the problem, and many staff members kept stopping by to see that it was all quickly resolved.
When the Den doors opened at 6:30 on Friday, we were ready!  I got some commissions right away, which made me very happy!
I did some really fun badges for folks, and some cool sketches.  I'll be posting them all soon! I stayed up way late both nights getting my homework done, but it was worth it.  My clients all seemed to love the pieces I did for them, and I got many compliments! Squeee!
I had a LOT of very friendly folks stopping by all during the con...some were buying, some not...but all were very welcome!!  I'm always happy when someone looks through my print book, or asks questions about my hand-painted china.  I don't want anyone to feel pressured to purchase anything...I just like to show off my stuff!

I was glad I decided to bring my china and set it up on my table. It's so different from the items others have, and always attracts attention.  I took some take-home orders for mugs and a plate bacause of it, so yay!
I will always have china pieces at my table from now on, not just in the art show. I think people like to be able to talk to the artist about an item when they are thinking of commissioning artwork, so having it right there is great for that.

Heather, Sue and I all packed up a bit early on Sunday, because we had a long drive home, and we were tired.  We had chatted ourselves out, and after saying our good-byes to all, we drove home.

Thank You to all who stopped by my table, to chat or to buy, and an extra-big Thank You to the con-com, who were constantly checking to see if I needed food, if I was having a good time, if I needed anything at all!  I'm sorry I did not get to any of their parties, but it was nice to be invited to them!

Furnal Equinox was a great con that has more than doubled in size from it's first year (last year!) and can only get bigger and better!!
