End of June update.
Been too busy to write anything in the last few weeks.
Let's see... the Mother in Law was here for a week. I actually took a few days off... haven't done that since Em's birthday last year. Picked her up at the airport on Thursday night. Friday we did the Old Port, found some ugly snow globes but missed the bus tour. Saturday we walked around the Plateau and had some yummy bagel-y goodness at St. Viateur and did some shopping at Lush, where I was flirting, or so I've been told. Sunday we did the Biodome and had dinner with the family. It was amusing. Part french, part english, part somewhere in between. Monday we walked along the canal near our place. Actually stopped by the Lachine Canal Fur Trade building and got to do the mini-tour with another group before it started raining. Had lunch at the Lachine Market at the frou-frou sandwich place. Tuesday and Wednesday I had to work, so I met them on Tusday night for a pint and some sushi... ahh memories of the R shaped guy. Wednesday was spent packing and visiting with the KingFish. Dropped Monique back at the airport on Wednesday night. Saw bullet_wings_5 at the airport but didn't say hi because I wasn't sure it was her.
Since then we've not done much. Work has been busy, with yet another stock take to do. Was on call the week before last and spent Saturday morning here finishing up some stuff and playing on the forklift again. Maurice started his vacation last week so Rog and I have been relaxing the last few days. These long weekends are weird because it seems that half the people take Friday and half take Monday. Either way, it's been quiet, which is good.
This weekend, Danielle was in town so spent Saturday evening with her. We went out for dinner to Janos for some yummy portuguese food. I had forgotten that John's daughter worked there, and didn't recognize her at first. Had dinner with Michelle and Joseph, Danielle, Maya, Nico, Emily, and Emilie. We all went over to Copacabana for a couple of pitchers afterwards, though Joseph had to go to the studio. Met up with some more people when we were there and had a good time taking public transportation home.
Yesterday, there was a garden party at Dan's parents' place. Found out that it was a "hat party" when we were about 5 minutes away. Played some games, had some yummy food, played with a baby and was told by his older brother that I couldn't take him home with me. Laughed a lot at the silly games, and lost because the other team was cheating. Got to see pregnant Maureen who is due in a month, Julie, Melinda and Dana and the newlyweds Dawn and Trevor. Was a nice way to end the weekend.
