Tonight I started Anne Lamott's book Small Victories. I have found her work incredibly inspiring and helpful, so I thought I might share the quotes that mean the most to me. This first chapter:
"Everything we lose is Buddhist truth-one more thing that you don't have to grab with your death grip, and protect from theft or decay. It's gone. We can mourn it, but we don't have to get down in the grave with it."
I have lost a lot over the last couple of years, but this is true. Letting go of what is lost is often the first step in embracing the future. I would like to be more mindful of the present.
