My aunt died Tuesday night about 6:45. And no, I didn't get to see her before she passed away. But that's really no big deal. My cousin assured me that she wasn't really there anyway. The rosary is tonight and the funeral is tomorrow. Oh, I can't take leave time for the funeral, though, because she isn't my "immediate family." --sighing, shaking my head-- I informed my boss that I was going, regardless, and she can dock me if she wants.
I have so much to do tonight, it's not even funny. I have to take the folks home as I do every day, then I have to go by the bank. Then, I have to go home and take a shower and change clothes and get the stuff to finish my daughter's Halloween costume. (She's going as a leopard and I have to make her sleeves and attach her tail to her pants.) Then, I have to pick up my daughter from school and take her to my sister's to use the sewing machine to finish the costume. Meanwhile, I have to feed my daughter supper. Then, I have to drop her off at the ex's and go to the elementary school dance at my school tonight. Oh, but on the way, I have to pick up a disposable camera from the store. Then I have to take pictures of the kiddos, then leave to go to the rosary at 7:00. Then, after the rosary, I have to run and pick up my daughter and then go back to school for the secondary dance and take pictures. I have to stay after the dance to help clean up so that I can EARN the time I'm going to be gone tomorrow for the funeral. Yeah, and THEN I get to come home.
--taking a breath--
Yeah, and somewhere in all of this, I'm supposed to dress up for Halloween. Uh . . . probably not gonna happen. However, I think I DO have a plan. I can get away with wearing my black jeans and white tux shirt to the rosary tonight. So after the rosary, I'll put on my tie and tails. What do you think? Better than nothing, I guess.
I had bought some stuff to streak my hair pink, but since I can't very well wear pink hair either to the rosary or to the funeral tomorrow, eh, I don't see that happening. Maybe I'll streak my hair pink for tomorrow night. Not that I'm going anywhere, but my kiddos might get a kick out of seeing me with pink hair for Halloween.
I did buy Blood Canticle the other night. And I read the first chapter to a couple of my advocate students. Since then, Zora has decided to call me LTM: "Lestat the Magnificent." --grin-- You have to read the book to understand (and know that I write as Lestat for a website). Perhaps it is good to change my online moniker from Enigma to LTM, in light of things. Hmmmm.
But, in reading Blood Canticle, I can tell you that I do NOT write like Lestat narrates that book. However, amazingly enough, that is exactly how Zora writes!!! If you don't believe me, go read his LJ:
zora1230. Both Poptart Woman and I agree that he would love this book because he could have written it!!!
