I was really surprised when you said you were using the generator for your first FMA fan fiction. Those random pairings are hard!...I even have a few that I'm not sure I can write, even after all the stories I've dreamed up! But you did very well with this! Especially since the pairing was so unusual! I love the way you wrote Hughes...drunk Hughes, ha ha! Notice he gets drunk and still the only thing he can think about is his family! ;) I love him!

Believe it or not, this really was the very first pairing I got when I clicked that generator thing. It was just fortunate that these were two characters I knew well enough to write. Some of the characters, I don't know at all, so it would be an impossible task. And I think NC-17 would be easier to write than R. --small smile-- After all, with NC-17, anything goes. But yes, you're right: this is hardly R-rated.

I think the only way Hughes would be tempted to do anything with another woman would be if he were very, very drunk. --small smile-- He's just WAY too crazy about his wife and daughter. And yes, I love Hughes, too. I was quite upset to discover in the manga that he gets killed off! --pout-- (His death is earlier in the manga than in the anime, which I have not yet seen.) Although I know you don't care for het or marriage, I actually have an idea buzzing around my head for some NC-17 involving him and Gracia. --small smile-- Guess that just sounds too white-bread for most people, but loreamara can attest that I'm really as much a perv as anyone else here.

wow, this was your first pairing from the generator? finally someone who plays by the rules! ;) Now, the first pairing I got was EdxAl NC-17, but that's what I write all the time, so I opted not to do it! But, after that, I played with the generator a little bit. I took all the yaoi pairings I got, but I'd usually skip over anything that was het, yuri, or less than PG-13. Then I got EdxLust, and I was like, "OMG! *_* Must write!" but it was only PG or PG-13, and that just wouldn't work for them...so I kept trying until I got that pairing with a higher rating. I ended up with R, and I would've rather had NC-17, too...Rs are just a pain to write! I had to stop before the smex :(

Oh, I love Hughes!...yeah, you'll see him die soon, I'm sorry to say T_T That is, if you're only watching them as the DVDs are released. I agree with you...he wouldn't cheat on his wife with a woman unless he was very drunk. He's just too dedicated! The only person I can see him going with while sober is Roy, and he'd do it out of guilt.

So, planning on writing anything more soon? ^-^

Funny that most of the FMA friends whom loreamara has want NC-17 yaoi, but I have other friends on my flist who now think that I am incapable of writing anything OTHER than NC-17 yaoi! Heh, so hopefully this will help dispell that belief.

In fact, I lost my last writing partner because of it. But I was writing an established character and, in my opinion, her expectations would have been OOC for my character, so we parted ways. Of course, we had a basic disagreement in that she maintains that I am incapable of not writing sex scenes,;and I maintain that when two characters have already had sex, it is next-to-impossible for them to go back to a platonic relationship. --shrug--

I think Hughes would do Roy without being drunk OR a tremendous amount of guilt. --smile-- But yeah . . . Roy is the only one who could possibly interest him besides Gracia.

I still think sex between Maes and Gracia was really hot, though. --grin-- I suggested to loreamara that I should write about the experience from Winry's p-o-v, so I could make it more R-rated. That way, I could explore Maes' relationship with Gracia (since he's so drunk, he thinks he's with her). But I was told that I write too "old" for Winry's p-o-v. --grin--

yes...it's sometimes really challenging for people that haven't been kids for a while to capture a kid's thoughts, so I could understand why'd she say that you write Winry too old. I personally write alot of fan fiction from the POV of children, sometimes as young as 10 or 11 (it's kind of my specialty, tee hee!) so I have lots of practice. But, then again, I'm only 18, so it's not too hard for me to get back into "little kid mode". lol! I actually envy people like you and Kristin for your ability to write the older characters. People like Roy are really a challenge for me. XP

he he, HughesxGracia is really cute, because he adores her so much! I like het when there is conflict or a major age difference (lol, EdxLust!) to make things interesting. But I also like the extra cute fluffy types of pairings like HughesxGracia!

Actually, NC-17 used to be kind of hard for me. I wrote strictly PG-13 until I got into Fullmetal Alchemist and was forced to write something more mature when Kristin gave me a really good AlxFletcher plot bunny. It's funny, because I read almost strictly NC-17, and it isn't like I'm embarrassed by it or particularly inexperienced...I just couldn't make the words flow the way I wanted them to. NC-17 is so different than PG-13 in the mood and verse style, so I had to make adjustments in my writing!

So, what pairing are you thinking of trying next? ^-^
