akeelah and the bee

today was "almost" as uneventful as it gets. until i went out to the movies. 1st i saw STICK IT. a comedy by the writers of bring it on. it was a good movie. not as stupid as bring on. yeah ok. then i went to starbucks where they were advertising this new movie "akeelah and the bee." i saw a few ads for it before. i figured i wanted to see it. never gave it too much thought. but all of a sudden i felt compelled to see it. and im grateful that i did. it is such an inspiring movie. akeelah reminds me of myself. except by the end of the film she grows. im still stuck in that same mode. i dont want to ruin it for ppl, but i feel like that movie was meant for me. very few know me well enough to get that, but seriously the things she was running from and dealing w/ sat right at home w/ me. this is my new favorite movie. i have a whole new perspective om my life. i already knew the message. i guess i just wasnt ready to receive it. ironically starbucks had these coasters w/ words from the movie on them. i took one. the word on my coaster was the same word at the end of the movie that brought it all together. i didnt even know until after the movie. all the more reason i feel like GOD is trying to tell me something. the word...
