  • I don't get it. Why am I letting the simple things get to me? I mean, I nearly got into an arguement with my co-worker over his using his cellphone while on the sales floor, which is against the rules. It's like, they just choose to fucking ignore me. I'm tired of getting chewed out by my manager over stupid shit that's not even my fault but yet, these people can walk in 30 minutes late, out of dress code, and be left alone.
  • I get chewed out because the other second shifter can't be trusted to fucking shift change by herself. And yet, I'm some horrible monster, because I enforce the actual rules. Sorry, no cell phones on the sales floor. No reading magazines behind the counter. No PERSONAL CALLS. I got yelled out for not being able to complete my orders, but yet, miss african princess gets mollycoddled onto first shift when I'm stuck on 2nd shift. I'm tired of the hypocrtisy. "I'm sorry, but the rules prevent me from payroll deducting 2 SANDWICHES, HALF A CARTON OF NEWPORTS AND 3 LIGHTERS after you've clocked out, not to mention, you're only supposed payroll what you eat." her response was to threaten to call my field consultant. I told her to go right ahead.

    Explanation of this rambling:
My store hired this girl Dominique, who seriously sits on the phone, reading People magazine, and constantly interuppts me so she can go outside and smoke a black and mild. Last time i worked with her, i snapped at her.
  • I'm trying to get 3 purchase orders written, which involves me in the drink cooler, doing inventory on beer, water/isotonics, and juices. That alone takes 2hours, because I have to sit back there and find everything. The order writing isn't exactly easy, either. It requires me to sit down and analyse the sales patterns for each product, and get an forecast, which in turn is compared against my inventory. This whole process takes me a good two and half hours. And usually, the second person leaves at 8, which gives me a grand total of three and a half hours to accomplish the rest of my shift. Ok, well, uasually, the manager will give the other person a menial count to do, like counting candy or some bullshit, something that kills time for them between customers, but the catch is it has to be done by the end of the shift. So, knowing the candy inventory takes 90minutes, with someone else out there, you'd figure she would actually try and do it, that way it gets done. No, because in a perfect world, ms. nubian princess would actually give a shit about someone else besides herself. A process which takes me 2-3 hours now takes 4, because she has to have a black and mild every 30 minutes. Plus the time it takes me to help her because shes so fucking slow on register. This last time, she asks me to stop what im doing so she can have a black and mild. I told her not until the candy count is done. She imediately said she was gonna call hr and get me fired. I told her to shove the whole racist remark down her throat and that the footage from the cams are saved for 6 months, so HR will have a nice show of her sitting on a milkcrate, talking on the phone, reading a magazine, while theres a customer standing at her register, not to mention begging for a black and mild every 30 minutes, oh and dont forget trying to take a 30. We dont have any breaks. We work straight through. (Contrary to what you all think, the federal law is clear on this. Unless your under 18, you dont have to have a break. So don't even start.)

  • I'm not racist in anyway, but I've noticed that the stereotype of the lazy black person is very true at my job. I've had a total of 7 no call/no shows, all by black girls. not to mention, every single one will scream racist to the high heavens when i try and obey the rules. I'M SORRY, BUT YOUR A LAZY FUCK. GET OVER YOURSELF. The most amusing part was she actually called my field consultant. My FC asked my side of the story, and I told her all of it, along with that my story can be backed up from the security cameras. The best part was telling my FC that Nubian Princess was already warned several times about excessive smoke breaks, and was reprimanded for taking an unauthorized lunch (leaving store property without clocking for the purpose of a lunch break can get you fired. I'm lucky because I usually wind up having to run to another store for something, and can grab a bite to eat.)
I'm tired, so im going to bed.
