Quite a busy day for me today. Drove mum to work. Came back and went to Carols to pick up a pair of scorpions. I think I will be calling them Sam and Dean after the characters from Supernatural.
Got a call from James to say that the router/modem had made the pretty blue smoke of electronic death. So went to PC world and picked up a new one.
Then I had to go back to Carols to drop a memory stick back because it had stuff on she needed.
Back home again, then off to Sainsburys for food.
Then I had a quick snooze for about 1/2 hour before watching some Supernatural and setting up the scorpions.
Back out again later to pick up mum and a workmate and drop her off home.
Later, we got the old router out for a poke around, to see what was wrong with it.
Seems the power supply blew, and took something about half way with it. I wired up a different power adapter and turned it on, to the bright light of a resistor burning out. Turned it off and on again to make sure it was totally dead, and it booted up fine. We have still to find out what has blown. Wireless and normal networking works fine. I can change settings and access the control panel with no problems. We've not tried connecting it back to the phone line tho. So we are going to try and get it to run a simple web page or the realm server for Warcraft.
Working Monday, but it is time and a half I think, so not too bad. I had meant to re-arrange my room this weekend, but got a bit lazy yesterday, and didn't have time today.
