Three days till I'm another year older, not really looking forward to it. I wasn't planning on doing anything but stay home, watch a movie, and have a beer since I'm not the kind of guy that likes to have parties or dinners or do anything that draws attention to me on my birthday. I changed my mind last night when I got home at 8:30 from working almost a 12 hour day [and have done so for the past month or more] and realized that I desperately need to unwind. And yeah, I realize it's short notice but I'm planning on doing something Saturday night and you want to come along then ask me later because right now I'm at work pretending to write an important client. All I know is that it'd be quite 'bitchin' to have it involve funny headgear.
EDIT:
I thought about this all day and couldn't think of anything original to do other than going to a bar. And by bar I mean the kind I like to go to, aka dingy holes in the wall. The only bars I could think of were:
The Burgundy Room: Hollywood, small, intimate, good selection on the jukebox, and no where to sit but the bar
The Bigfoot Lounge: Los Feliz, large, DJ that spins indie and, ugh, flashbacks on Saturday, cheap drinks, booths
The Liquid Kitty: West LA, large enough, dimly lit, strong martinis, DJ/Band, booths, good crowd
Might even consider a pre-party at the apt, which if you haven't guessed, isn't in long beach but the valley.
I'll sleep on it.
It'd like to see all hooligans and non-hooligans in attendance tomorrow.
