I originally wrote this when there was a wonderful storm here in Bristol. I then posted it to the TRC lj community. It was a few hours after this that I checked the news and heard about the big storms in America. I have terrible timing.
The air lay heavy in the dim room. The scent of a storm outweighing even the dust that lay thick in the corners. With a flash of lightening that illuminated the page he was reading, and a rumble of thunder, the storm finally began in earnest.
He looked up as Fai laughed, to see him standing at the window. The net curtains were draped over his head, his elbows resting on the sill. Another flash of lightening, more laughter and now Fai's nose was touching the glass.
Putting the book down he stood and walked over to stand beside him. A pale hand reached out and before he quiet realised, they were standing arm in arm. The temperature had dropped sharply, and Fai's bare arms were covered in goose bumps.
"Nee. It's pretty isn't it?". Raising is eyes from the arm wound round his own, he looked back outside. A flash of lightening tore the sky in two and a branch was ripped from an old tree. Beside him, Fai watched the destruction with an expression of rapture.
He opened his mouth to speak, but found himself able to neither comment nor leave.
The door swung open and Kurogane entered, holding the door for Sakura as she carried the tea tray. A moment later his arm was released and Fai had latched onto Kurogane. Steady thunder and wild lightening, a storm waiting to break.
