It must have been eight or nine years ago that I first brought an RPG game. I still remember going into the shop (a Game I believe) and buying it from the preowned section. That game was Final Fantasy VII. I had read about it in a computer game magazine, the article had a picture of Tiffa limit breaking with the title Beat Rush above her head. There were snarky comments about some of the translation.
I took this game home and I played it through. I got to the final boss having done almost none of the extras (this being my first RPG experience). I failed miserably to defeat Sephiroth. I got distracted and wandered off to play other things.
Some time later, I managed to acquire a guide book as a free gift with another magazine. I went back to the game. I bread chocobos and hunted down many nice hidden things. Once more I headed into the crater. 'Just a little' I thought, 'just a little more leveling up'... Time passed, I never got round to that leveling up. New games drew my attention once more. I was week.
Years passed, I went through college and eventually came to university. Some time in my second year of uni, I caught wind of a strange whisper on the internet.
Advent children... Advent children...
I followed this strange sound to a website, and there I saw it. The most beautiful trailer I had ever seen. It called to me with a silver tongue. I knew what I must do.
Through many long nights I battled. Through many long races I ran. Through many cut scenes I sat. Till at last this day came...
Bow down before me, for I have defeated Final Fantasy VII!
Now, I shall revel in my glory. Revel and drink tea.
