my dad has been sober for 8 days. i didn't think it would ever happen. obviously this is only the beginning and it'll be a battle for him and my family too, but the fact that it's even happening is amazing. he's always been in denial; i never thought he'd try to get help. i was ready for a divorce this summer, but it may actually end up being the first summer i'll spend with a complete family. and it starts in four days. i can't wait to go home.
