So, I had to frikkin relearn how to ride a bicycle today. I didn't realize how long it's been since I've actually been on a bicycle, but it didn't take me long to figure it out...
So, since my bike is way too small for me, I decided to take my mom's bike. Good idea, really, since I would have had to scrunch into a ball to fit on my...pink "capri"...bike thing. She has these annoying foot-holders on her pedals (what are those called?), so you have to actually put your foot into a certain place, which is hard to do when speeding downhill. Finally, I got both feet in, was going strong, came down a driveway towards the sidewalk, and realized I was going kinda fast. Of course, I put my hands on the brake levers...but the brakes weren't there. So, basically, my mom's bike is designed differently than mine, so you have to lean forward and change positions to reach the brakes, and since I didn't have the time to switch positions, I just kept on going. I steered into the grass and found myself confronted by a huge telephone pole, which I lovingly sideswiped, promptly falling off the bike and bringing it crashing down on top of me. That's excitement for ya.
I guess I eventually got the hang of it--I went around the block a few times. I also ran into Yader walking up the street, and I decided to stop--of course, I put on the brakes so hard that I almost flew forward, but that's another matter. That's about it.
Biked to the library, got a bunch of movies and cds that were on hold for me--the library is wonderful, really.
