Hmm..this week might have some definite perks versus the rest, but I definitely experienced one this weekend. I got to see my nephew, Connor, for the first time and of course his parents, Wayne and Michelle. I had a nice visit and holding Connor the times I did was a calming experience for me. I seemed to time it when he wanted to nap and he'd get comfy on my body whether it was in my arms, thighs, or on my chest/shoulder region. He'd make the cutest sounds and I'd hum in his ear or rub his back gently as I watched him sleep. That was the highlight of the weekend. I've never been one to voice my real opinion about becoming a mother or wanting kids, but holding Connor was precious. I was in awe. He's so beautiful. Just made me think how wonderful and fulfilling having a child must be. It's one of the strongest types of love: parent to child. I feel privileged to be his aunt though. Connor is a blessing and I'm glad I get to be part of his life.
Meanwhile, things are status quo for the moment, but I'm going to make sure I apply for that cafe job this week and run a few errands and/or go to some engagements. One thing I will cross my fingers the most for is seeing Ken this Friday night. Seems like he's available by the reply he sent me today. Let's hope that doesn't change.
