Different episode s043 spoiler:
Soooo... can we consider Cecil's yelps of "Ow! Ow, ow!" when the not!duck thing bit him as a proof that he's not "one of the 53% of our community that was born without pain-sensing nerves"? :D
We were never told either way, but it's not the kind of thing that fandom would let slip unnoticed. ;-)
Of course, it's very likely that for the writers it was just a throwaway line, so they didn't even consider it a question... Cecil gets bitten, Cecil yelps. Also, being that this is an audio medium, they need to use anything that gives Cecil a reason to react very audibly (and in an upsetting manner, because of course they have to inflict pain on the community's darling).
But I know fanfic can explain away almost anything, so I'm not too worried about people not being able to write the kind of plots (or lack thereof) that rely on Cecil not sensing pain.
(Countdown to the first "Strex have discovered how to make those 53% hurt" fic in 4... 3...)
(OTOT [On The Other Tentacle], I'm still counting down to the first RPS involving the cast, and it remains absent, so.)
