Hello from Mexico! :D
Shall explain later the how and why, but for now - Internet cafe next to the hotel, finally luxuriating in the pixels and bytes. It got too windy on the beach, and frankly kind of cold. The weather is a bit capricious.
Also, this is the first hotel I've stayed in where the room booklet contains instructions for what to do in case of hurricane. Just as the Bulgarian hotel which had complimentary smoke masks, which was the first to feature such an accessory.
Have done some more writing, but it takes too much time to type it from the notebook, and the more I write by hand the more it gets. Back in Sunnyvale I hope I'll be able to find a library to mooch off Internet from, per Gnomeofsol's advice.
I regret not reading your Spanish learning entries,
kikibug13, because knowledge of Spanish, even shallow, would have been very useful here. People who deal with tourists do know some English, but as soon as you have a more complex request, things get out of hand fast. Which means that flailing one's hands and gesturing can only take one so far. Besides, I like speaking in languages, but I've got a bit lazy about learning it. *g*
