Figure skating Helsinki

I've watched the men's figure skating Helsinki Europeans yesterday (the long/free program, I was at work during the short programs *pout-scowls*) and yay!
I liked all the boys who won medals, and even some who didn't (Ponsero)! Joubert was yummy and dynamic as always; Kevin van der Perren, whom I've been waiting on for many years, finally got his game together (although he may have profited from other skaters' incredible lows, but I liked his program by itself, so); and the complete surprise (for me) Samuel Contesti, whom I had never seen before.

I should have, if his interdiction (BTW, French Federation: boo! that was a really mean and petty thing to do, and essentially un-sporting) was of only two years, right? I was watching figure skating two and three years ago... But anyway, he was really good, and I might have a new crush.

I felt so dismayed for Tomas Verner though. Clearly it wasn't his day, but in such a spectacularly awful manner I felt like hiding on his behalf.

The Eurosport transmission lost sound for a long while during Voronov's program, which sucked because I couldn't appreciate his performance in context of the music. (At least it hadn't lost the image too, like it had at some point earlier...)

And I was so sleepy I could barely keep my eyes open, through absolutely no fault of the skaters. I would find myself sliding down on the couch and dozing off, and would try to force my eyes open and wonder when had I slipped away. Ugh.
