Eep! A belated Happy Birthday to ev_vy!

Because I can never watch just one episode of Firefly, I have now seen all of them, and December is still a long way from here. Well, I'll take advantage of that and try to catch up with the fandom (vids! fics!) before the movie Josses them... The trickier part will be staying unspoiled, but I trust my flist to keep things under the cut at least the end of this year. (I hope I'm right...)
And I've read there's a comic book which is supposed to act as a bridge between the tv series and the movie, so I downloaded that too and I'm waiting for a quiet week to read it.
I guess this clears any doubts whether I loved Firefly or not, Carus and zeonn :)

Adobe Premiere Pro heard more insults from me in two evenings than Windows Movie Maker ever did in two weeks. I ended up downloading AviSynth, even though the idea of scripting makes me howl in despair, and taking a detour through the good ol' trustworthy VirtualDub, all because Premiere turns its nose in disdain at certain things one wants to do to an XVID-encoded clip.

We re-installed the 256MB video card and the fullscreen image it provides is as beautiful as I remembered! I could sniffle from joy. As for the crashes, the trick seems to be (and I hope I'm not jinxing it by saying it...) to keep the computer case open so the whatever-that-overheats can breathe the fresh air. (Can one put a fan over a video card, like you do with CPUs?)
