the irony of new year's resolutions

May 05, 2008 09:30

Isn't it interesting how people only write resolutions on New Year's eve? How they would draw up a list of "THINGS TO DO FOR 2009" and tell themselves that THIS YEAR, they would achieve whatever is on THAT list.

Think about this. If you want something done badly, why do you need to only draw up a list at the end of each year? Why do you need a list to 'remind' you of the things that you want to do? If you really want it badly, you would attempt to do it now and not give up upon the first few failures so that you can conveniently add it into you next year's new year's resolutions list again.

Isn't it interesting?

just a thought
