In Which I Love My Major

Apr 14, 2010 14:00

I've averted my forced early graduation panic attack.

All thanks to an impromptu Japanese Minor! Which means I get to spend my last year at Berkeley learning about Japanese Horror films, The Culture of Tea, and Buddhism. Really, this should've been such an obvious solution since I already had plans to do a refresher course on Japanese this summer (since I didn't take it this year) in order to jump back into upperdiv Japanese in Fall.

ALSO. I'm taking Northeast Asian Politics for my Political Economy concentration (which I switched from globalization -> late industrialization) AND LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE PROFESSOR I'M GOING TO HAVE(according to ratemyprof):

"He's great w/ Japanese policy/government and covering topics re: new democracies. And yes, he the hottest prof. I've had at Cal. I took two of his classes, partly b/c of the subject matter and partly b/c hes fun to look at."

"Vogel is amazingly hot. I actually recommend you don't take the class because it's easy to become distracted by his looks and forgetful of what he's saying. With that said, you've been warned!"

"1) Best looking professor I've had at Cal. 2) Remembers your name (even tho I went to class less than 5 x). 3) Interesting context."

"Best class I've taken. The design of the course (readings, lectures, and sequencing) was brilliant. [...]I don't like to think of my professors as hot, but since it's already been pointed out, I'd have to concur"

GUESS WHY I’M TAKING THIS CLASS?

” Specialization: Political Economy, Japan “

YESSSSS.
Oh&apparently he's good looking.
hahahaahaha

OH AND this means I settled my grad issue a helluva lot faster than I expected, sooo I can spend time writing!

waiting for muse
