NLC3 - The Ring Legacy Gen 2 Pt 1

Jun 21, 2010 16:19

Welcome back to the Ring Legacy!

We're done with generation 1 and embarking on generation 2. According to the generation tasks, the Rings are now going to earn all of their money from non-career means.

Narya got off to a running start and invited over Gordon in an attempt to get their relationship onto a more adult footing, rather than just a teen romance.

And Molly quit her job. She was at level 9, didn't quite make it to the top of the career so she didn't achieve her lifetime wish.

Narya continued to work on her gardening skill. I can't quite remember when, but she reached level 10 in that skill.

Gordon got invited to stay the night.

Narya: I really, really like you. I hope we can continue to be more than friends. Will you please move in with us?

Gordon: Anything for you, my love <3

Maid: Oops... Seems I broke the sink. Hope I don't get fired for this!

Don't worry about it. The family do it all the time. I'll just get The One to upgrade it to unbreakable.

Gordon and Molly: * Paint *

Random Rock In The Distance: * Glows like a meteorite fallen to Earth

Narya has the Green Thumb trait, which means that at level 10 gardening skill she can talk to plants. Not that it seems to do anything. I was hoping that she would be able to upgrade the quality of the plants but I didn't see any difference once she was done talking to the grapes. Maybe they just live longer or give a bigger harvest? I have no idea.

She decided to help out with money earning by writing a novel.

I think her muse left her. She kept hitting her forehead on the keyboard and acting frustrated.

I'm sure it will be fine and sell really well! Don't worry about it!

These two are sickeningly sweet together.

If I don't set them tasks to do, they hang out together, flirting and making googly eyes at each other.

And then get started on bringing generation 3 into the world.

I distract The One by having him upgrade the teleporter.

I do believe that we have generation 3 lift-off!

Narya promptly got sent off to Egypt because I didn't fancy dealing with her on a trip while pregnant. Those 6 tombs per location aren't going to explore themselves!

Narya: The sand... In gets into all the cracks...

It's adventure time!

I will try to keep this from getting totally boring by skipping over some of the more mundane stuff that I posted pics of before, such as pick-axing rock piles and opening keystone doors. Most of the adventure-type actions are the same from location to location, just the traps and puzzles are different.

Hooning off on the kenspa ot the first location.

Run, Narya! Run!

Seems the first adventure starts back in the base camp. Well, at least she got to ride around and see some of the sights.

Just inside the door, another intrepid explorer is contemplating whether or not to go underground or just sit inside the door, enjoy the shade and then pretend like she'd just been exploring.

Narya has the upper hand, though, as she was given a keystone to open the door barring the way.

Hope she manages to solve all the puzzles. The consequences for not getting ahead don't look good.

Luckily she's been working out like a maniac at home so her body skill allows her to shift the heavy statues.

And then she was all tuckered out and had to have a sleep so you get to enjoy the scenery outside while she sleeps.

Darkness falls and the adventuring continues.

Though not immediately. Because there are pyramids for me to gawk at.

Digging for relics.

Running around and getting more sand in unmentionable places.

Yes, I know. This update is more "What Narya saw in Egypt" than anything else.

But the scenery is really just stunning.

That's the Tomb of Queen Hatshepsut, I think.

The market.

And for some reason Narya managed to fish up a frog. I thought they were limited to France, but apparently not.

Looking for a secret entrance.

This one slid down rather than swiveling open.

Narya: Discovering new things. It never gets old!

She was pretty tired after exploring the tomb and passed out right near the exit.

Then she spotted another way down, into another part of the tomb and got chased by a mummy. Thankfully she got away.

She had a wish to sleep in a tomb, so she pitched a tent in a likely spot.

And then I found out something interesting. Don't leave your collection helper on while doing adventures, kids! She got a job to go and find some special rocks but because the collection helper was on the whole map lit up and I couldn't identify the rocks she actually had to find. And turning it off removed all the rock and gem locator beacons from the map. She spent the last 2 days pickingup just about every rock on the map but never found the special ones. So the end of that adventure was a bit of a bust and she'll have to return later to finish it off.

In the meantime, she decided to learn snake charming.

The snake really doesn't look all that happy... I think she might need to work on her creativity skill in order to play a bit better.

See you next time!
