NLC3 - The Ring Legacy Gen 1 Pt 6

May 10, 2010 08:49

Welcome back to the Ring Legacy!

As foreshadowed last time, Narya decided to go on a bit of a holiday to France. I figured that she might as well get started early on her Lifetime Wish, which is to explore a bunch of tombs in all 3 WA locations.

I gave her the Prepared Traveller reward so she got 6 days instead of just 3 for her trip. I also gave her the Opportunistic reward so she would get higher opportunity rewards.

This is what it looks like when you fly into France.

Buying some necessities, such as a tent in case sleeping underground is necessary.

And then it was time to check the adventure board in town.

First up, a spot of running around the place, talking to people.

And then she gets sent underground, tomb raiding.

The kenspa is so cute! Narya bought one so she'll get to hoon around on it when she goes home.

The Celtic Ruins. Kind of like a mini Stonehenge.

There were some clearly visible excavation sites so Narya got digging so she could get relics to fulfil her mum's work opportunity.

And then these two showed up and started poking around, making it hard to look for the relics. They got bored pretty quickly, though, and Narya got her first relic! It was a broken pottery shard, so not exactly exciting, but goot enough to just hand over to fulfil an opportunity. So it's win all 'round.

Last time I had sent a sim to France I didn't manage to find this bit.

Standing on that stone opened up a secret passage.

At this point I decided to just take a bunch of pictures of whatever looked interesting because otherwise this update might as well be called "The Sims 3 World Adventures: France Walkthrough" if I took pics of each and every action Narya took.

Narya: I'm so excited to finally be here!

Using a keystone to open the door.

Pickaxing her way through some rubble.

Narya: What's this funny-looking little round pool?

Narya: Might as well dive in.

Here we go, with some more law-breaking and stealing stuffeths from tombs.

Looking for a secret door.

Which got interrupted by a toileting emergency.

Narya: For some reason the tomb builders failed to install bathroom facilities into tombs.

Engram: Perhaps because they didn't expect anyone actually ALIVE to frequent them?

Narya: What's your point?

She's lucky that she's in France and not Egypt or there could be a nasty surprise lurking in there.

The shower in a can animation is quite hilarious.

They spray EVERYWHERE, including their nether regions.

I'm glad that she's the one with the adventurous trait. I would definitely NOT be sticking my hand into a weird hole in the wall of an ancient tomb. I watched all of the Mummy movies. I would need Brendan Fraser by my side before attempting any of this.

A map of one of the areas of the tomb she was exploring. I don't understand how this works. Sims route!fail while trying to find a chair in a brightly lit room but they can negotiate a dimly lit maze without problem.

More scenery because tomb raiding is actually only interesting to those trying to solve the puzzles.

It's just a prop on the horizon.

The Nectary, the interior of which you will see shortly.

Hooning around on the kenspa at night.

What the magic gnome from China was doing in France I have no idea but he was promptly snaffled.

The icky-looking pink stuff is nectar. The dive wells yield goodies when explored and are sometimes secret passages.

Engram: I can't believe you're drinking that stuff. You saw what happens! People SWIM in this stuff!!!

She also found the Egyptian magic gnome. In the Chinese Gallery of the museum.

Sense. This makes none.

And totally randomly, here is an image of Narya pulling on a light fitting.

Narya: Ooooh! Sekrit Passage!!!

Engram: Because you haven't seen 1536353423427 of these already?

Narya: It's totally fresh and new every time I find one.

Engram: You keep telling yourself that.

The cemetery. One of her quests required that she return some remains to the correct family crypt. None of which were labelled so she had to try each.and.every.one.of.them!!!

OK, I know that you are clumsy but rolling around in the squished grapes while making nectar? You're taking the gross and icky factor associated with nectar-drinking to yet another level.

She finally picked herself up and managed to stomp the grapes into submission.

More nectar-making imagery. Because France is actually a bit of a mind-numbing destination and the quests here tend to involve a lot of running around and talking to people so this is about as exciting as it gets.

LOL

And then it was time to go home!

Narya managed to finish level 2 of her passport and is partway to level 3, which is the final visa level for this location. She'll need to return at least once or twice, though, because if I remember correctly her LTW is to explore 6 tombs at each location and she only managed to explore 2 on this one.

My apologies for the rather lacklustre update but unless the sim gets attacked by mummies, nothing exciting actually ever happens on these trips. And I think we've all seen so many pics of sims doing all this tomb exploring stuff that I felt that I would bore everyone stupid if I took and posted more imagery than this.

The upshot of all this is that the Rings are not going into the booze business, which will be one of the sources of income when generation 2 starts. Hopefully there will be just one more update for this generation. No more than two, anyway. The twins are about to move out and I will try to rush Narya through as fast as possible so she can grow up and take over ASAP. Because my mind is already made up and she is going to be the next torch bearer XD

See you next time!
