Could EA have *le gasp!!!* lied???

So TS3 has been leaked and Pescado got his mitts on it.

Anyway, I don't know how many of you attend MATY on a regular basis and this post is kind of buried so....

Pescado says EA lied and TS3 is infested with SecuROM. And kind of sucks.

I know he can come across as a bit of a hysterical hystrionic but he usually knows his stuff. I'm sure his gameplay style is totally different to mine so I'll reserve judgement on whether the gameplay sucks or not until I play the game. Enforced legacy-style gameplay does not bother me because that's exactly what I was expecting from TS3 based on what they've revealed baout it.

As for the SecuROM thing, the only "proof" he offers is in the fact that the game attempted to dial home for registration purposes. TS2 tried to dial home for registration purposes prior to SecuROM, too. Every time I've reinstalled TS2 I got the "please register" pop-up, so it could actually be benign. Or it could be SecuROM. I dunno. I wasn't there, looking at Pescado's PC's registry.

Not that I have any way of verifying this even after I install TS3. My PC is infested with SecuROM regardless of whether I try to avoid it on Sims or not. I have Neverwinter Nights installed. I'm more worried about whether we can export sims out of the game and NOT to the Sims 3 Exchange so I can send mine to Keely and not EA!

ETA: Pescado has added a screenshot showing the game requires online activation.
