Nobody at vacation hotel?
Wanting to get back to my legacies, I've been playing Beatrice and Benton Darcy on their vacation. I have played through their first day and other than them, nobody has moved into their hotel!!!! It's damn boring!!!
I know that this is a common problem and that there is a fix. I am about to search the LJ comms as well as S2C and InSim's help sections, but I thought I'd throw out the question here, in case anyone knows off the top of their head - when faced with this problem, what is the solution?
ETA: I am an idiot and need to generate my own vacation locals and tourists, don't I? I have empty BV templates and the notownie region. And an apparent lack of the smarts. I am firing up the game now to see if generating locals and tourists will help.
ETA 2: OK, so that wasn't such a hot idea. The townie gun is generating ALL MEN! I need some women on vacation, too. Effing Maxis, making their townie gun generate just one gender. How effing stupid is that. No matter how many I generate, it will only let me generate only one at a time and only effing MEN. I guess it's exit-to neighbourhood-without-saving time.
ETA 3: So then I decided to send Booster to a comm lot to force the game to generate some vacationers. Guess what? One male local and 2 male vacationers! So then I entered "intprop maxnumofvisitingsims 25" and it generated one MALE local. I think I need to make custom locals and put back the non-empty templates for next time. This is too frustrating.
