Since a couple of people seemed to be mildly interested in seeing pictures from my playtesting of Generations, have a picspam.
Little White Chapel - David and Laura get married. Take 1.
This guy thought it was all extremely romantic and burst out crying at the conclusion of the ceremony.
As you can see there is no automatic changing into glad rags for a wedding, even when the wedding arch is involved. Pity.
Note to self - cake table is too close to the windows.
This was on the original lot where I built the chapel. I then decided to move copies of David and Laura into Queenstown by Awesims. After several hours of dicking around with the town I finally got it to work. 'Tis pretty.
A random elder displaying her cane.
Since I wanted to test the new equipment I made the Queenstown football field into a play park.
So, umm... yeah! Meet Laura and David. Again.
PDA = celebrity level up!
Time for treehouse woohoo.
David: Geeze... I'm going to have to buy her flowers after this!
Laura got a splinter on her arse after that romantic little interlude. DEFINITELY deserves some flowers.
Laura: I need some coffee.
Random Kid: We have a you beaut coffee maker in our new house but you're not invited.
Laura: Litte twerp.
Laura: Drat! The brat wins!
They get better at doing tricks on the slide as they continue to use it. David could only slide on his back or front.
Laura gets revenge on Random Kid by destroying her sandcastle. I love how evil she looks there <3
Not a new interaction but d'awwwww!
Daycare and spring toys in one. Or three. Whatever. I love how the kid refused to get off the pirate ship.
David helped out with the daycare, too, after he got home from trying to be a film star.
Stargazing.
And then David managed to knock her up and she is not likely to ever be able to work again :( I will explain later.
They were engaged in CAS and one day David got a pop-up saying he should have a bachelor party. When it was time for the party I got a pop-up of Laura asking "honey, are you sure you want me around? maybe I should go out for a bit?" which was rather sweet. I won't lie, the dancer was super boring. These are the best bits:
The passing out was random and sometimes amusing but mostly annoying. They would pass out, get woken by the stereo and turn off the stereo, thus stopping everybody else having fun. And they insisted on having a LOT of passing out episodes which meant that I was fighting the sims for control of the stereo.
Onto The Wedding - Take 2!
Laura: I sense fuckery :/
Being frisky = tickling. And apparently they go off to woo hoo if they're at home. Or somewhere where they can woo hoo. Which is not availbale on this lot unless you swap a toilet for a shower, I guess.
I didn't manage to catch it but she gave slapped him on the shoulder just before I took this picture.
Anyway, I moved the cake out by one square from the window and it worked beautifully. Except only one sim can cut it and thus only one of them got the memory for cutting the cake. Stupid.
Pillow fighting!
And then she gave birth and everything was ruined :(
Laura had twins, Daniel and Lorne. And she got TEN days off work. I had a friend test things in her game as she has all the same EPs and SPs as me and in her game sims get 4 days off for pushing out a pair of twins. Laura got TEN. I'm guessing that this is due to a faulty time off algorithm involving calculating time off for honeymoon and maternity leave at the same time.
I noticed that David got a myterious 2 days off. I don't always read all the text in the pop-ups so I'm guessing that this is time off for the honeymoon. Given that sims get 4 days off to care for an infact, it looks like the algorithm choked on the honeymoon + birth calculation and gave her 2 days for the honeymoon and 4 days off per kid. Lovely. The twins are now toddlers and she is pregnant again with either twins or trips, and the algorithm keeps adding days to her time off. So she was down to 6 days off and it added 3 days for the pregnancy last time I looked. If it fucks up again and gives her 4 days off per kid and it's trips, she will end up with 18 days off remaining, effectively ensuring that she cannot go back to work until she is about halfway through the adult life stage, ie. almost an elder.
Lesson to take away from all this - don't have weddings with pregnant sims because it will totally ruin their career.
To wipe my tears they got some wedding gifts from friends. This is Laura writing thank you notes, which is a nice gesture.
Daniel
Lorne
They are costume-coded for easy identification. And yes, I set the plushie outfits for all options so they are ALWAYS wearing them.
The boys both got the invisible friend doll. I can't remember which doll is which but one has a female I named Peaches and the other has a male I named Blythe. I'm hoping the gender sticks and they will end up being female and male respectively.
Doll spam!
They were actually freaky!synchronised at this point but because they were so far apart I couldn't get a good picture or video of it. I suppose I could always moveobjects on? Next time!
Daniel: Bwocks!!! XD
Lorne: I sense fuckery with this xylophone. :(
Lorne: *is still suspicious of the xylophone*
Daniel: XD!!!!!!!!!
Laura did this autonomously! I was delighted. And suspicious of where that nightie came from because that is not a clothing choice I set for her.
Everybody loves Daniel and Lorne is a bitch. He screams his head off at the slightest provocation. Daniel is just happy to be here.
Daniel continues to sense fuckery in everything, including his baby food. I think I will give him the neurotic trait when that becomes available to him. I'd love a "paranoid" trait for him but that doesn't exist and "insane" is just taking it a little too far. He is not insane, just very very suspicious of the world he lives in.
ETA: The twins have aged and a second pair of male twins has arrived. Lorne is now brave, clumsy and neurotic. Daniel is artistic, nice and... something! I aged up these 2 after the new ones were born and Laura is down to 4 days off work! I'm hoping she doesn't get too many days off when the second set of twins ages to toddler. With all this testosterone, I think I will have the family adopt a girl. They have 140 simoleons so they can't afford a third crib... YET! I just want to get the requisite number of kids for her LTW which is to raise 5 kids to teen.
