[ Gunfire can easily be heard in echoes-- it's obvious already that it's more than a simple echo to the person possessing the communicator. Cannons are heard exploding, followed by the shatter of bricks falling upon themselves and cries from various men in many different languages. They all have one thing in common: "the French" is heard on most of their tongues. A more quiet sound of clashing weapons and rushing cavalry rings in the distance, and then a man yells, "FIRE!"
Cannons blast again, much more obviously from the side of the conflict England clearly is in.]
Cease fire for now, Wellington! The cannons need to be re-loaded! A--
[ More gunfire ricochets off brick, and more cries of agony are heard everywhere. ]
Shit. Where the hell is Prussia and that damned von Blücher?
[ The man closest by, a distinctive and similar English accent marking him from the other nationalities around him, replies over the din, "They said they were on their way!" Seconds later, cries of "Vive le Empereur!" briefly interrupt as the sounds of a cavalry rush again crescendo. ]
We don't have the time for this! That French bastard isn't playing by the rules! Gentlemen! Give them all you have! HOLD THIS MANSE AS LONG AS POSSIBLE!
[ Cannonfire again deafens every other sound for a second, and gunfire rapport answers it quickly. ]
Aim for any of those damned French rebels you can see! Drive them away!
[ A cheer of enthusiasm, though tired, sounds through the ranks, and even more gunfire sounds over the fields.... ]
[ ooc; Welcome to the Battle of Waterloo; for the basics, this was the second attempt by Napoleon to seize power within Europe after he escaped from exile on the isle Elba, and his last stand in his entire war career. The English did fight the French, but the English commander the Duke of Wellington manned a multinational coalition consisting of Dutch forces, the English army, and several French royalists; this coalition was to be met by the Prussian forces, who had been delayed. Spoiler: Napoleon loses. ]
