OMG but it was a long, long day yesterday. I awakened at 2:30 am to do the last bit of work on my presentation that was due that night and got the last pages printed out. I then went my coffeeshop for oatmeal and coffee and an hour of reading. Then on to the shop to label and organize my overheads for the talk that evening and to finalize one ( Read more... )

I have a day off today, so I might get a chance to get my illustration done for the LOTR Community Art Challenge, I need to do some samples for my upcoming lecture, and I want to rewrite the drabble I was discussing yesterday and see if I can be happier with it.

I finally have decided what I am making for smaller holiday gifts. They aren't as elaborate as last year's beaded holiday stars, but still are taking longer to make than I had originally intended. I wanted something that would take about an hour, maybe two hours to make, but these are closer to 3-4 hours. But, that's still better than the 8+ ( Read more... )

I accepted a repair yesterday. I don't accept a lot of repairs any more - most of them are really boring and something that could be done by the person with minimal work. I would rather teach the person how to do the repair and make them a long-time customer than just fix it for them.

 What a year it has been. I became bolder. I reviewed more fanfic stories and, because I was more vocal, made friends in fanfic throughout the world. That's one of the highlights of my year - I enjoy having friends in places other than the US, it helps me pull away from being so insular.  I'm not ashamed of my age - I've worked hard to get to where I am. I would happily trade my body in for a younger version, but I wouldn't give up my mind - there are too many lessons I wouldn't want to learn again.  So, last week I posted about how brain dead I was, making a bracelet that had no resemblance to what I wanted to make. So I ripped the incorect one apart and started again last night.
