Breaking Benjamin

Over at a messageboard for Breaking Benjamin this was posted by the man who produced both Breaking Benjamin albums:I am very glad that some people have listened to the three new songs. As the producer of the band I have to say that everyone really worked hard on creating a very inventive and creative reord. We tried to really stay true to the bands sound, just augmenting it without making it over produced. The good news is the band played everything on the record, no chicanery. It is real.

I really like the lyrics and the melodies so hopefully when you hear the body of work in its completion you will appreciate the fact that the band did not want to be pidgeon holed into a one trick pony. Bens vocals in the studio were really clever and heartfelt. He sang his ass off for many days in a row. Mark came up with very inventive Bass parts, Jeremy really excelled and played some things he didnt even think he could play!! He just came alive. Aaron used a lot of his textures skills and really had a lot of fun with his Telecaster. Aaron LOVES to play guitar. Ben has a guitar style all his own and we used it at every oppurtune moment.

This is a real band with real playing, you should be proud of them, they stepped up to the plate and always thought about their fans, always reminding themselves that their following was very particuar, they were all respectful of not alienating the fans, but bringing them along for the ride.

It is very difficult for a new band to make a sophomore record, lots of pressure. Your band welcomed the challenge and would rise to the occasion at every oppurtunity. We really went in with the understanding that we wanted no filler, and imho we have NONE!

You have all been very patient, I hope you like the music as much as we do, and you should be so proud of your band, they are true proffesionals with all the soul and the open minds to take them to the next level.

I would work with them any day of the week, even with all the pain and the heartache we had to go through at times. Nothing great comes easily to anyone. We truly hope you like it...we do!
I got it from the Shallow Bay. I think he made the comment about "overproducing" because I commented about how I liked that it wasn't overproduced. Very cool!
