So, I have a lot of up and coming shit, military-wise, and I assumed that I should post some of it.
I all ready posted about going to Louisiana and Texas for predeployment training for the Iraq deployment in August (I will be able to come home for a couple weeks prior to the deployment). I should be getting my Sergeant rank by July. Also, when I return form the deployment, I will be going to a 3 week Pre-SFAS (Special Forces Assessment and Selection) course to prep me to go to the Special Forces Selection course. It's a course of all infantry and calvary scout guys, so, needless to say, I will be a fish out of water, but it's something I really want to do.
This Friday, in more shortterm news, I will be doing an 11pm jump. Somehow it got changed and there won't be anyone jumping with rucksacks or weapons or camoflauge. I am very excited about that. And then, Tuesday, I will be zeroing my new M-4 Carbine (zeroing = adjusting the sighting to my shooting style so it is far mor accurate) and then, after, I will be doing some MOUT training (Military Operations in Urban Terrain), aka, clearing rooms and buildings. Should be some fun training, but it is said to be a stress-fire which means that they they will not be conducting the exercisse until we are all tired and fatigued to test our combat efficacy.
That is really all the big news that I have. I will try to post more, should more come up.
