the weekend
Friday I found out that Chris went to Dallas with his girlfriend, Patty, so it was just Karen and I for the weekend. I met up with Karen at Bethel for the VBS parent's presentation and picnic. It was pretty good, the kids all sang some songs and the worship leader was really energetic and had an amazing voice. I sat with Sandy and Dave (Tim's aunt and uncle). Sandy was the typical mom and video taped DJ and Zack. After the program I got stopped several times by several ladies in the church. Tim has never dated and so for him to have a girlfriend is kind of a big deal, plus everyone loves Tim. I have been going to Bethel for a few months now and rumor has it that I am dating Tim. Everyone keeps introducing themselves to me and when they find out that I am Tim's girlfriend they get really curious about how we met, and how he asked me out, and what he said, etc. Its kind of funny and I feel like I am on display. So I told our story to a few ladies and they kept ooohhhing and aaahhhhing. It was pretty funny. So pretty much everyone at Bethel knows we are "intended" since they know Tim only dates for marriage. Grandma fell on Friday afternoon and she came to the program to see DJ and Zack but she was in a lot of pain and had hurt her ribs and wrist. She wouldn't go to the doctor but hopefully she will this week. After the program we ate BBQ and the boys ate sno cones and pop corn and played all the games until it was dark and we had to leave. I helped grandma to her car and then Karen and I left to go home.
Saturday we didn't have any pressing errands so we went to wal mart to get pepper some dog food and ended up shopping for clothes instead. After wal mart we went the Vorizon store and I switched to Vorizon but I have the same number. Since I switched from Cingular they cut my activation fee and gave me a good deal on the phone. Then Karen wanted to go to Ross so we shopped the sales for a bit. We then went home and ate dinner and decided to go see Pirates of the Carribean. So we went to the Edwards Marquee. The 9:00 showings were sold out so we got tickets for the 9:45 showing and went to get smoothies. The movie was great but we got home really late.
Sunday we went to church. I went to the singles class and I am beginning to make friends. They aren't a very talkative group but I met two girls who were really friendly- Katie and Elizabeth. I am really excited to get to know them better. Then we went home and ate salads from Jack in the Box. Chris had gotten home so we went to go refill the water bottles and get him lunch. When we got home Karen remembered that she had to go get Nela since grandma was in a bad mood and mad at her. I started some laundry and fell asleep so I ended up staying over there really late. We watched futurama and then Tim called at 8:30 which was really early for him. He was tired but we talked while I packed up to go back to my grandparents house. All in all, it was a really good weekend.
