While I'm procrastinating getting started on work bits today, I'm having a look at a first season episode of the New Yankee Workshop. I've never seen these episodes before and so it's interesting to note the changes from the ones which air now, some 20 seasons later.
First off, the shop is brand new. The walls are only structure and external sheeting, no insulation and no finish on the inside. The bench is a very basic few boards on top of a simple frame.
There's a marked lack of brand name tools, so far, the only powertools have been painted to be no-name.
I believe that his New England accent has weakened over the years... It's pretty think in this early year!
And, when he needed to pin a joint while the glue dried, he actually used a hammer and a brad nail by hand. Who knew that it was possible to do that without an air compressor and a nail gun? LOL
