Title: The Old Man and the Big Blue Box
Fandom: Doctor Who
Pairing: Tardis/Doctor
Warnings: None
Summary: The Doctor has spent hundreds of years alone After his companions leave him, all he has is the Tardis. But sometimes, it get's very quiet in the old girl.

He tries to remember how long it's been since he left Amy and Rory to make babies or whatever it was Rory had suggested. Something about a marital rejuvenation.

Amy had looked sad to go, muttering something about keeping safe and that she'd see him soon.

But companions died. They were, afterall, only human.

He remembered his ninth regeneration and Rose and then Martha and Donna and there had been so many others. But he never forgot them.

"They always leave me," He murmured to his Tardis, splaying his long fingers against her control.

She made a whirring sound and he felt her give him a little mental nudge. A hug. His Tardis was hugging him.
Sad/Sorry/Sad

He sighed and slowly walked down the steps to her underboard wiring. He slumped in the swing and touched the large arterial cable carefully.
"No, I know. I'll always have you."
He frowned and pulled his sonic out slowly, contemplating some sort of repairs.
"Do you ever think I'm insane?"
She nudged him again, playfully.
Amused/cheeky/wink
The Doctor smiled despite himself. "I suppose I am. Big blue box, travelling 'round in space. Would make anyone go a bit batty. Maybe it's time I retire. Can timelords retire? I just feel so old, you know? Dear me, dear me. You are in a mess, here. I've left this for a while now. Yes."

She nudged him again, pushing a little harder.
Scowling/Persistant/Contemplating

He carefully twisted his screwdriver around in his hand.
"I remember the day you spoke," He mumbled.
For the first time in a very long time, she remained silent. No arton energy, nothing. Silence.
He frowned.
"I liked that. Liked it very much. You were so delightful in person. Delightful. Absolutely. Gorgeous girl, you were."
Smiling/Reminiscent/Sad
"I didn't want you to leave, I wish you'd stayed. Just for a little while. Just a little while." Like a small child whinging, he pouted and slumped again.
"It's just no fun. You're the closest thing I have to home. You are home."
Again, she remained silent.
"I should fix the chameleon circuit, it's about time."
He's noncommital and frowns and mutters as he tries to remember how to fix the circuit.
"Oh, what?" He snaps. She's laughing at him. Quiet, tinkling laughter.
"I liked you more when you were a human."
She sulks and he grins to himself.
"I'm lucky to have you, girl. Really."
She laughs.
"Space is only an adventure when you have someone to share it with."
He pockets his sonic and get's up from the swing.
"Goodnight Sexy."
"Goodnight Doctor."
